People jump to the conclusion that the event was the result of prayer or a miracle before thinking of all the possibilities of outcomes that could have happened. Let’s suppose, that every known possible outcome of a situation is represented by the numbers on a six-sided die. If I pray for 2 but roll a 4, the believer will say, “Well, it was not in God’s plan.” If I roll again and-wow!-I get the 2!, then the faithful will say, “Look! God answered your prayer.” This is precisely the rationale behind prayer and expectations.
